Student Low Vision Training Days

Student Low Vision Training Days

The Partially Sighted Society is pleased to offer a 2-day onsite Low Vision Training course tailored for Pre-registration Optometrists and Student Dispensing Opticians. This immersive experience includes observing sight examinations focused on patients with visual impairments, which can last up to 45 minutes each. During these exams, students will learn to understand patients’ eye conditions and their specific needs, allowing them to recommend suitable visual aids.

Participants will engage in hands-on demonstrations and discussions with patients to determine the most effective aids and equipment. This practical training is conducted under the supervision of experienced professionals, including a trainer Optometrist or the CEO/Low-Vision Assessment Officer, who provide guidance throughout the process.

If you are a Pre-registration Optometrist or Trainee Dispensing Optician looking to enhance your low vision skills, this course is an excellent opportunity to complement your professional development.
